Sacred Kingfisher! Goulburn River, VIC

Camping on the Goulburn river around Murchison, I was stoked to see Sacred Kingfishers for the first time. Loads of them! They're so much smaller than I realised, very difficult to photograph! I really enjoy the head/beak to body size ratio on these little guys 😂

My nan used to take us to Walhalla when we were kids, The 3 things I mainly remember are; -We stayed in an old cabin with no electricity. -My sister got leeches on her in the creek that runs through the town. -There's a cricket pitch on top

Notes: Drive through Rubicon State Forest into Eildon National Park, VIC

Quick notes from a drive into/out of Eildon. Herbs track - easy, borderline 2wd accessible. Morris look-out is well worth a look, beautiful view of Eildon and surrounds. Royston Range track - easy, but newtracs doesn't seem to have it plotted correctly. I ended up having to reverse

Summer = Gang Gang Season

Our third summer in Hurstbridge saw a very good turn-out of Gang-Gang Cockatoos for around 2-3 months. Some evenings we had up to 40 of the creaky lil' guys enjoying our bird baths and the hawthorn berries by the creek across the road. One family lingered
